Approaching my final semester of college, I panicked at the thought of starting my career in only a few short months. I went to UNC Wilmington and studied Business Marketing and Management. Myself and my parents always envisioned me becoming a CEO of a large, successful company, and we pretty much assumed the corporate life would be the route for me. But in reality, I've always had more of a creative mind than a technical one. The nine-to-five life was not ever going to be for me, and it didn't take long at all to figure that out.
After working alongside an incredible wedding planner in Wilmington for about a year, I decided to move back home to Charlotte and launch Katie Brooks Event Co. on a whim. Here we are, one year later, and I could not be happier with where this sweet little business is taking me. Without a shadow of a doubt, weddings are my passion and being a wedding planner is what I have been called to do. It is allowing me to travel all over this beautiful state and see places I never even knew were right around the corner from home, and it is introducing me to some of the most wonderful couples and families I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. If you'll have me, I'd love to take part in one of the most special days of your life. I'm so excited to meet you, and if there is anything I can do in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out!
I'm a mom to a beautiful Australian Shepherd, Auggie, whose favorite hobby is chewing up mama's shoes. Not just the average shoes, though. It always seems to be the expensive or hard-to-find ones. :') His big brother Beau is a little more well-behaved and gives the absolute best lovin' ever. I'll share if you'd like!
I'm an avid thrifter and a professional "wedding decor on a budget" shopper. So much so, my parents have a room in their house devoted to my "junk." I can't help it. I buy anything I see value in...down to every brass candlestick and vintage drinking glass I can put my hands on.
I live for late-night runs to Mickey D's for chocolate chip cookies and a large coke. McDonalds Coca-Cola is the best... If you don't agree I'm sorry, but you're wrong.
you'll hear from me shortly.
When it comes to weddings, I can talk alllll day long! I know planning a wedding can be so stressful, but I'd love to do anything I can to take the weight from your shoulders and make this day as seamless and stress-free as possible for you. Let's get to know each other and rock out this wedding! I can't wait to meet you.
